'Ohe'o Gulth

Hawaii > Maui > Hana
Length0.5 mi
Elev. Gain80 ft
Difficulty1 / 5
Rating7 / 10
The Seven Pools are the most popular destination on this side of Maui. The Seven Pools are made by Pipiwai Stream flowing down 'Ohe'o Gultch, crashing down one waterfall after another. The last couple pools make great swimming spots.

To find the trail, walk towards the ocean from the parking lot and locate the big sign. Turn left from here and come across a model of a traditional Hawaiian house. Keep walking, and reach a Y. Follow the right path and pass under the branches of kukui nut trees. The path then curves to the left and passes an ancient burial ground. Find a small side trail from here that takes you a few feet toward the cliff, high above the sea. Continue following the loop, passing several other small trails that lead down to pools. You'll find interpretive signs here, explaining the origins of the pools. Continue on and reach the highway, a sign points to the left. Follow this to complete the loop.
