The trail rises steeply upwards to a rocky clearing, from where you can get a good view of the city. After you cross the exposed ridgeline, you will come across a pair of electricity towers, before reaching another clearing from where you can view the entire mountain range.
Soon along the trail you will come across the Puu Uau, marked by the native Ohia and Koa tress. On the right you will reach a path that leads to the Koolau mountain range and the Aiea Ridge. However, you should keep following the trail. The path forks after reaching a corridor of pines. You should take the right path. Near the end of the trail, you will come across three steep switchbacks and a small and somewhat dry stream.
