Kaluapuhi Trail

Hawaii > Kauai > West Kauai
Length3.2 mi
Elev. Gain150 ft
Difficulty1 / 5
Rating7 / 10
Kaluapuhi Trail is also called the Plum Grove Trail. The trail is wide, and passes through beautiful forests of ohia, guava, plum and ginger. The path culminates at Kalalau Lookout where the views are amazing. From here you can see the cliffs and ridges of the Kalalau Valley and the Na Pali coast.

From the parking lot, the hike starts out by following Kokee Road northeast for 0.3 miles before finding the Kaluapuhi Trail on the right. Climb the hill before heading east on the path. After 0.5 down the path you'll reach a junction. The right path leads nowhere, so stay left and head north before eventually rejoining Kokee Road. Take a left and hike 0.2 miles west along the road to find a paved pullout and path on the right. Follow the path to find a picnic area, Kalalau Lookout and all the spectacular views the area has to offer.
