Manoa Falls

Hawaii > Oahu > Honolulu
Summary
Length1.6 mi
Elev. Gain425 ft
Difficulty1 / 5
Rating8 / 10
TypeWaterfall
The Manoa Falls trail has a host of natural attractions that make it one of the most popular hiking destinations of the island. Since it is a very well managed trail, it is great for amateur as well as skilled hikers. Located very close to downtown Honolulu, the trail begins on a flat and broad ground. You can reach the trailhead walking past a grassy meadow and over a small bridge. The path here is somewhat tricky, so you need to stay alert.

Along the way, you will find that the trail takes you through a beautiful and lush forest. You will be able to hear the roar of the mighty Manoa falls before you reach it - the sound and the sight of the 150-foot waterfall is definitely worth the hike. You can also see the 30 ton rock debris that was deposited here after a major rockslide in 2002.

Be careful of the leptospirosis disease that can result from a kind of bacteria that is found in some of the water bodies here. So heed the sign before taking a dip in the pool.
