You need to walk to the trail head by taking the Mo'omomi Road up to the beach and cross the beach. Start your hike from the trailhead by taking the red dirt-marked road till the coast. You may pass the road leading to the Department of Hawaiian Homesteads. Go straight and after crossing two more dirt roads, you will come to the beach embracing the Kaawaloa Bay.
You should walk straight and cross the Mo'omomi Beach. Next, trek up the rocky hill on the top of Kaiehu Point. There is another dirt road you will notice and the official parking lot of the Nature Conservancy. This is where the official trail begins to the Mo'omomi Preserve lands. Then the trail goes west and descends down to a beach bordered by sand dunes. Continue west and you will walk under a canopy of Kiawe trees to another beach. Take a loop towards the interior and you will reach the trail head back at Kaiehu Point.
