Red Hill Summit

Hawaii > Maui > Hana
Summary
Length0.2 mi
Elev. Gain50 ft
Difficulty1 / 5
Rating7 / 10
TypeView
Red Hill, or Pu'u Ula'ula stands at more than 10,000 feet and is Maui's highest point. The views from the top are amazing. You'll be able to see down into the crater of Halekala volcano and even other Hawaiian islands in the sea.

Its just a short walk up from the parking lot to the summit, and you will be able to feel the 10,000 feet of elevation. The air is thinner and you will notice the cold, so make sure you bring appropriate clothing. A shelter awaits you at the top, and provides 360 degrees of breathtaking views. The views include Science City, a collection of observatories and other buildings, West Maui, the Big Island, Lanai, Moloka'i and Kaho'olawe. Another interesting sight at the trailhead is a garden of silverswords. This is the only place on the planet where these plants live.
