The path begins by going through a gate, and following a gravel road. There are many side roads and trails that lead to small pools along Ho'olawa Stream, but ignore them and stay straight. At 0.5 miles you'll reach a fork in the road. Both paths lead to waterfalls. To stay dry, follow the path to the right. You'll cross an irrigation ditch in the forest and then follow a retaining wall that separates the ditch and the stream. Continue on a bit further from here, and reach the falls.
